Together we have worked tirelessly to save forests, electrified a village and to make our food, water and air clean and safe. We’ve challenged corporate interests and corruption, and we’ve upset powerful people. 26 days ago the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) froze the donations from 77,768 Indian citizens to Greenpeace India and will succeed in closing us down in June, unless you help us now.
Please donate today - to keep campaigning to save India’s forests.
In March we celebrated together after we won the campaign to save the forests of Mahan. There are other forest areas under threat from soon to be auctioned coal blocks. We need to do a proper assessment of how much forest and wildlife corridor is in danger - to expose what’s happening and to plan our next campaign. On the ground research, investigations and publishing the findings will cost at least a Lakh.
Last year you helped us invest over 2.5 Crore - electrifying the village of Dharnai using solar energy and Indian innovation. The world needs more Dharnai’s and solar solutions for our cities. This month we’re going to ask you to lobby your state government to install solar street lighting to make our streets safer at night.
Finally we are going to go court to challenge the MHA’s decision to freeze the donations of 77,768 Indian citizens to a legally registered Indian society. This is wrong – the MHA has no right to tell you that you cannot invest your money in a better future for you, your family and everyone. Court cases are expensive, take time, and we need your help to survive until we (hopefully) win that court case.
Please donate today to keep campaigning with Greenpeace India.
This is a critical time for India’s environment. Greenpeace India does not accept donations from governments or corporations – only individuals. And unless the MHA unfreezes our domestic accounts, we can only rely on your generosity today. Without your help the Greenpeace India society will be forced to close and we will no longer be able to help you campaign for a green and peaceful future.
Thank you for your support it is what gives me hope
