Faces are unmasked,
the stains are very deep,
the magic is breaking, today I fear from the truth.

the evil has been cast,
and this glass like city has scattered,
not able to mingle in the union of dear ones.
(I) don’t sing a song.

gone to the direction by crossing the line,
get bound every time in the moments of nirvana.

MORE OR LESS

More or less
How to say "more or less" in English?
more or less

One of the expressions that the student learns just starting to study English is "more or less" which is obviously more or less. It sounds too easy, at first glance, but its correct use requires some attention due to dissimilarities in using this expression in Portuguese and English.

Here in Brazil, "more or less" usually describe approaches, emotions, tastes, feelings, uncertainties. Not for lack of wealth of vocabulary, but for economics and language vices that end up being incorporated into our daily lives.

In English, more or less is an expression restricted to demonstrate orders of magnitude. Then, its use is identical in both languages. Please note:

Roughly 12 million people living in São Paulo.
There are more or less 12 million people living in São Paulo.
They killed about 300 people in the disaster.
More or less 300 people Were killed in the disaster.
The repair of your car will cost $ 100 or so.
The repairs to your car will cost $ 100 more or less.
Now, consider some situations in which the expression more or less would not be used for adding "more or less" in English.

more or less

A: How was the party yesterday? B: More or less.
A: How was the party last night? B: So so. / Not too bad. / Not so bad. / It was not much. / Middling.
A: How are you feeling? B: More or less.
A: How are you feeling? B: Not too good. / A little under the weather. / I Could feel better. / Not very well. / So so. / Middling.
A: Do you remember Bill? B: Yes, more or less.
A: Do you remember Bill? B: Yes, I do, vaguely.
A: You like Pamela? B: More or less.
A: Do you like Pamela? B: Yes, she's alright. I suppose. / A little. / Not much. / So so. / Not a lot.
A: Are you hungry? B: More or less.
A: Are you hungry? B: Yes, I'm feeling a bit hungry. / Yes, I am a bit. / Yes, I'm peckish. / I could do with a bite to eat. / So so. / Yes, I am a little.
A: Do you have money? B: More or less.
A: Do you have any money? B: Yes, I have some, but not much. / Yes, a little.
A: You just woke up? B: More or less.
A: Did you just wake up? B: Yes, I just woke up. / I've been up for a few minutes. / I'm still feeling sleepy.
A: You always travels on weekends? B: More or less.
A: Do you always travel at the weekend? B: Yes, Generally. / Yes, in general. / Not every weekend. / Sometimes.
A: The work is done? B: More or less, bit lacking.
A: Is the work ready? B: Yes, Nearly. / Almost. / Not quite.
A: Are you busy? B: More or less.
A: Are you busy? B: A little. / Not too busy. / So so. / Yes, a bit. / Yes, but not too much.
A: Lack much to get? B: More or less.
A: Will it be long before we arrive? B: I do not know, perhaps a couple of hours.
A: I had a lot of people in the Rolling Stones concert? B: More or less.
A: Were there a lot of people at the Rolling Stones concert? B: Yes, about forty-thousand.
A: How was your vacation? B: More or less.
A: Did you have good weather on your holiday? B: It was not bad. / So so. / Fair. / Not too hot not too cold. Could've been better. / Middling.
Virtually all the answers in English could be translated perfectly. It's a shame that the grandeur of the Portuguese language to be replaced, in all these circumstances, "more or less".

More or less
I found a pearl! During a conversation between friends, one participant says, "More or less." The listener, insistent, back to question: "But it's more for more or for less" Do not try to never say something like that in English or your sanity mental will be called into question.

  • There are more or less 12 million people living in São Paulo.
  • Morreram mais ou menos 300 pessoas no desastre.
  • More or less 300 people were killed in the disaster.
  • The repairs to your car will cost US$ 100 more or less.
Agora, analise algumas situações em que a expressão more or less não seria empregada para dizermos “mais ou menos” em inglês.
mais ou menos
  • A: Como foi a festa ontem? B: Mais ou menos.
  • A: How was the party last night? B: So so. / Not too bad. / Not so bad. / It wasn’t much. / Middling.
  • A: Como está se sentindo? B: Mais ou menos.
  • A: How are you feeling? B: Not too good. / A little under the weather. / I could feel better. / Not very well. / So so. / Middling.
  • A: Você se lembra do Bill? B: Sim, mais ou menos.
  • A: Do you remember Bill? B: Yes, I do, vaguely.
  • A: Você gosta da Pamela? B: Mais ou menos.
  • A: Do you like Pamela? B: Yes, she’s alright. I suppose. / A little. / Not much. / So so. / Not a lot.
  • A: Está com fome? B: Mais ou menos.
  • A: Are you hungry? B: Yes, I’m feeling a bit hungry. / Yes, I am a bit. / Yes, I’m peckish. / I could do with a bite to eat. / So so. / Yes, I am a little.
  • A: Você tem dinheiro? B: Mais ou menos.

  • A: Are you busy? B: A little. / Not too busy. / So so. / Yes, a bit. / Yes, but not too much.
  • A: Falta muito para chegar? B: Mais ou menos.
  • A: Will it be long before we arrive? B: I don’t know, perhaps a couple of hours.
  • A: Tinha muita gente no show dos Rolling Stones? B: Mais ou menos.
  • A: Were there a lot of people at the Rolling Stones concert? B: Yes, about forty-thousand.
  • A: Como foram suas férias? B: Mais ou menos.
  • A: Did you have good weather on your holiday? B: It wasn’t bad. / So so. / Fair. / Not too hot not too cold. Could’ve been better. / Middling.

SAMOSAS (VEGAN)

SAMOSAS (VEGAN)
Para a massa, você vai precisar de:
1 xícara de farinha de trigo
2 colheres de sopa de óleo
3 colheres de sopa de água
Sal a gosto
(Rende 4 samosas grandes)

Enquanto a massa descansa, prepare o recheio. Você vai precisar de:
Batata salsa
Cominho
Sal a gosto

SAMOSAS (VEGAN)
For the dough, you will need:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons oil soup
3 tablespoons water soup
Salt to taste
(Makes 4 large samosas)

Simply mix all ingredients, knead well and let rest for about 10 minutes. The result should be a rigid and almost dry mass, it is a little hard to move. But kneading well, it will incorporate.

While the dough rests, prepare the filling. You will need:
Parsley potatoes
Peas (frozen or fresh have a much higher quality, do not recommend the can)
Yellow Curry (even in powder)
Cumin
Salt to taste

Just cook all ingredients until parsley potatoes look good molinha, crumbling. Season with cumin, curry and salt to taste. You can make regular potato also, incidentally, it is the original recipe. As potato is bad to freeze, I chose to do with parsley potatoes and leave some samosas ready for a more natural day.

Take a look at the filling consistency:

Divide the dough in four, roll up to form a ball and open it with a rolling pin. Add stuffing and close as follows:
Then you can just fry and eat. To f

ollow, I made a tamarind chutney, which is also a very traditional recipe and perfectly complemented the samosas! Just put the recipe here for you :)

GOOD TRIP !!

Will travel to India to ride? Here's how to avoid problems in the immigration and risk situations.
In addition to any visa requirements, check other entry requirements in the country by the respective Embassy and Consulate in Brazil. The entry requirements may include a minimum period of validity of Brazilian passport (for example, three months after the date of return); international vaccination card (issued by ANVISA); Income receipts; reservation of accommodation vouchers or letter of invitation and others. If the immigration authority of the foreign country judge that the requirements were not met, the traveler will be retained for long periods and given back to Brazil, should, in some cases, pay for their own return ticket.
Write down previously, contact information, such as telephones (including the consular duty), e-mail and address of the Consulate or Embassy of Brazil in charge of regions where will during the journey. Inform a family member or friend complete the route information to be fulfilled, including data hosting sites and contact persons. During the trip, if you're alone, try to keep in touch with family or friends in Brazil. If you are traveling in hazardous areas, enter your itinerary and contact details to the Brazilian consular office responsible.
Bring certified copies of documents (such as passport and identity card), in case you need to apply for new passport abroad, due to loss or theft. Or alternatively keep scanned copy to your email for easy access from any computer.
If the purpose of your trip is to settle and work in the destination country, seek to obtain the appropriate work visa and not log as tourists. Entry and stay illegally exposes migrants to very serious risks, including imprisonment, expulsion, extortion by "coyotes" and gangs, human trafficking, sexual exploitation, labor exploitation and labor similar to slavery.
When applying for visas, it is important not to omit (for example, on previous stays in the country concerned) or transmitting inaccurate data, conditions that can result in detention by the immigration authorities on arrival already.

HASHTAG
O que é uma hashtag? Onde vive a hashtag?

HASHTAG: what is the meaning? There is translation?
HASHTAG
What is a hashtag? Where lives the hashtag? What is a hashtag? No, this is not the opening text of a known documentary program. It seems, but it's not! 😉

hashtag

The purpose of the post is clear up some confusion I have observed and also explain the origin of the word hashtag for you to enlarge your English vocabulary. Being a term frequently used in social networks, I doubt that you will forget its meaning.

The hashtag term is used to describe word or phrase preceded by the # symbol and summarizing the main topic of a post on social networks, especially Twitter. The hashtag is also often used to do search on a particular subject.

HASH TAG + = HASHTAG
The confusion that sometimes makes is to think that the # symbol is called a hashtag. This signal, called "hash" or "pound sign" in Portuguese, receives several names in English. The most common are pound sign, number sign and, in British English, hash. In music, the symbol is called sharp, the word for "sharp" in Portuguese. As one of the possible translations for substantive tag is "tag", we can conclude, therefore, that a hashtag is a kind of label that serves to a publication we label social network for easy identification. So hashtag is a unit consisting of pound sign another word or phrase that sums up the topic.

hashtag

Among other uses, hash can be slang for hashish or hashish in Portuguese. For full hash meanings, consult a good dictionary online. #ficaadica

Translation?
Unaware consecrated translation for the word hashtag. At least for now, I believe that there is no attempt to translate the term. I read and hear with hashtag frequently in texts in Portuguese. If you've seen the word translated in some way, please send your cooperation in the comments section below. Thank you.
