For Indians, lentils are a daily ingredient, with a similar importance to beans for Brazilians. India is the world's largest producer of this legume, rich in protein and iron. Lentil contains fibers that help in reducing blood fat levels. It's a fairly quick dish, 25 minutes. and it's ready, and quite tasty. For those who like Indian food, here is the suggestion of a recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
100g lentils (dry)
1 unit tomato without seed cut into cubes
1/2 onion chopped unit
3 tablespoons soybean oil
1 cup water
salt and fresh coriander to taste
1 teaspoon chopped garlic and ground ginger (mixed)
1 pinch cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 spoon (coffee) cumin powder
METHOD OF PREPARATION:
Put the water in a pan and add the lentil. When the beans start to break down, turn off the heat. Reserve. Put the oil in a frying pan and heat. Add the cumin and the onion and sauté until golden. Add garlic mixed with ginger and cumin, coriander and turmeric powder and saute. Add the previously cooked lentils and tomatoes and cook until well cooked. Season the lentil mixture with salt to taste. Finish with fresh cilantro and serve.
